Forecast Confidence Is Not a Guarantee

How AMAAS uses confidence to describe model strength, agreement, and completeness.

By AMAAS Research July 2026 3-minute read

Forecast confidence is best understood as a research-quality measure.

It reflects the strength of available signals, agreement among model families, and data completeness. It is not the probability that a stock must rise.

Markets contain shocks, structural breaks, and information not represented in any model. Displaying confidence alongside model agreement and principal risks helps prevent a precise-looking number from being mistaken for certainty.
